Climate change refers to the long-term warming of the planet and shifts in weather patterns. It is primarily caused by the increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants in the Earth’s atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the planet to warm.
There are many impacts of climate change that we are already seeing, including more frequent heatwaves and extreme weather events, such as hurricanes, floods, and droughts. These events can have a wide range of negative consequences, including loss of life, damage to infrastructure and property, and economic disruption.
To address climate change, we need to reduce our carbon emissions and transition to cleaner sources of energy. This can be achieved through a combination of individual actions, such as using energy-efficient appliances and driving less, as well as policy changes, such as increasing the use of renewable energy and implementing carbon pricing. It is important that we act now to address climate change, as the longer, we wait, the more difficult and costly it will be to address.
